HotDrop
I worked as a Product Designer, Product Manager, and Engineering Project Manager for this music discovery start-up in 2022.
Mobile Designs
When I joined the team, there was already an established design aesthetic and many screens designed by a previous designer. However, in my tenure the whole goal of the product shifted and thus the things we wanted to implement and how the users would interact with screens changed as well. I designed screens that would fit within the aesthetic of the established design, but which worked to accomplish our new goals. In my designs, I focused on usability, such as implementing both a left-handed and right-handed selection bar, and I used my background in computer science and knowledge of engineering to design screens that would be easier and quicker to implement.
For each screen I designed, I went through a process of discussing the idea with the full team, basic sketches, multiple high-fidelity prototypes, and rounds of revision with feedback from everyone and user testing before a screen was established.
The main aspects I focused on were the sign-up flow, the main explore page, and the trending page.
Web Designs
The app is based on a connection with indie artists who upload their own music, so I created the portal through which artists could upload music and monitor their tracks. I made all designs for the web portal from scratch, starting with wireframes and then moving into fully executed designs. I implemented the designs in figma, and used the prototyping tool to run usability testing with users and iterate on the design based on their feedback and ease of use.
I made screens for the entire process from signing up, to uploading a song, to monitoring the song and wrote copy to go along with each of those steps.
